Text Preset Manager

Product Overview

Text Preset Manager is a plugin for Adobe Photoshop. Save your text styles — font, size, color, layer effects, leading, tracking, horizontal and vertical text, and more — and apply them anytime with one click.

Panel Overview

At the top of the panel you'll find a page (bank) selector, buttons to add, rename, and delete pages, an apply mode switcher, and a help button. In the center are 10 preset slots, with Import, Export, and Clear All buttons below. Slots with a saved preset show a green border and a thumbnail; empty slots show just their number.

Save a Preset (Right-Click)

Select a text layer, then right-click any preset slot to save the following in one go:
• Character attributes: font, size, color, tracking, leading, horizontal/vertical scale, bold/italic, underline, strikethrough, baseline shift
• Paragraph settings: alignment, wrapping, and other paragraph panel details
• Layer effects: drop shadow, stroke, glow, bevel and more (captured up to 2 levels of parent group effects)
• Opacity, fill opacity, blend mode, anti-aliasing, text orientation

Manual kerning (character-by-character spacing adjustments) is not saved. If a saved font isn't installed on the machine you're applying to, a warning dialog appears before applying, so you never end up with an unexpected mismatch.

Apply a Preset (Left-Click)

Select one or more text layers, then left-click a preset slot to apply it instantly — even across multiple layers at once. Right after applying, press Command (Ctrl on Windows) + Z to undo with Photoshop's native Undo.

Apply Modes: Control What Gets Changed

Choose how much of the preset to apply — from "just reuse the effects" to "just swap the font" — with three modes:
• ALL: Applies everything — character attributes, layer effects, and paragraph settings
• LOOK: Applies only layer effects, color, opacity, blend mode, anti-aliasing, and orientation, leaving font and size untouched
• FONT: Applies only the font, leaving size, layer effects, paragraph settings, and orientation untouched

For example, use LOOK when you want to keep the current font and size but swap in different layer effects, and use FONT when you want to keep the current effects but swap in a different font.

Organize Presets into Pages (Banks)

Group your 10 slots into "pages." Add, switch, delete, and rename pages freely, so you can keep separate sets of presets for different projects or clients. Perfect for when 10 slots isn't enough for everything you need.

Rename and Reorder Slots

Double-click a slot's label (usually the font name) to rename it on the spot — press Enter to confirm, Esc to cancel. Hold Command (Ctrl on Windows) and drag a slot to reorder your presets.

Import & Export

Save and load presets as JSON files. When exporting, choose between "this page only" or "all pages." When importing, choose to "overwrite" or "add" to your existing presets — and if a page with the same name already exists, you'll be asked to confirm before anything is duplicated. Great for moving to a new machine or sharing styles with your team.

Clear All

The Clear All button wipes every preset on the current page. If the page has any saved presets, a confirmation dialog appears first to prevent accidental loss (this action cannot be undone).

Automatic Saving

Your pages, presets, and apply mode settings are automatically saved to Photoshop's plugin data folder as you work. Close the panel, quit Photoshop, or restart your computer — everything is right where you left it the next time you open the panel.

That said, we recommend exporting a manual backup in these situations:
• Moving your presets to a different computer or Photoshop account
• Sharing presets with your team
• Reinstalling the plugin, or as a safeguard against plugin data corruption
• Before using Clear All or deleting a page, just in case

Auto-saved data includes your page structure (each page's name, title, and all 10 preset slots), the currently selected page, and your apply mode setting.
